Welcome to the Peptide Research Group of H.N.Gopi

The Peptide Research Group, led by Prof. H. N. Gopi at IISER Pune, explores the frontiers of peptide chemistry through innovative molecular design. Since its inception, the group has evolved from studying basic peptide structural motifs to establishing a multidisciplinary research platform focused on synthetic peptides and foldamers. Our work combines organic synthesis, high-resolution structural characterization, and biomolecular design to create architectures with predictable and programmable functions. With a mission to uncover the principles that govern peptide and foldamer structure and recognition, the group strives to translate this understanding into practical applications—developing next-generation peptide-based therapeutics, advanced molecular materials, and novel strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance. Through curiosity-driven science and collaborative research, the group aims to contribute impactful molecular solutions to challenges in biology, medicine, and technology.
